Accredited Appraiser
The appraisal process itself includes booking an appointment, my travel to the vehicle, taking numerous pictures, doing an inspection to document features, options and condition. In addition I'll ask questions about the vehicle being appraised to determine (if possible) history, special features and changes or restoration steps that have ocurred over the years.
This usually takes me about an hour. (More if we get into general discussions about collector vehicles.)
This inspection is followed by a detailed and professional typed appraisal report that includes colour pictures, comparisons with similar vehicles and valuations based whenever possible on reference guides and current similar vehicles found for sale. The intent is to come up with a fair value for the vehicle so that you can properly insure it as a collector vehicle.
Typed and finished reports sent to the owner and the insurance company usually within about a week (or faster if there is a severe time limit.)
